Teaching and Making

You may have noticed that there is now a 'Tuition' page on the site.  From now on as well as making furniture to commission I will be offering one-to-one lessons in hand woodworking techniques.  Depending on how this develops I may also offer short courses in the future.

This is a logical step for me, which I have been contemplating for some time.  I am a qualified teacher and trainer of adults - I have a PGCE in post compulsory education and training, and teaching was both a major passion and my main source of income for nearly ten years.  It was probably only a matter of time before woodworking and teaching came together!

In the next few months I am also going to be putting aside time to make "on spec" some pieces which have been fermenting at the back of my mind for a while now.  There are new directions in design which I am keen to explore.
